This can include more frequent and detailed prenatal check-ups, additional ultrasounds to monitor growth and development, and, often, care at a hospital specializing in complex pregnancies.
This care extends to the delivery, where a skilled multidisciplinary team and a plan for potential emergencies are essential, as well as postpartum care to manage higher risks of maternal and infant complications.
Because of the higher risks, you will need more frequent prenatal visits to monitor the health of both you and the babies.
There is a higher risk of conditions like pre-eclampsia and iron deficiency anaemia, so regular screening and monitoring is crucial.
