Guiding you through menopause with understanding and care

Menopause is the natural end of the reproductive stage of a woman's life, and commonly occurs when she has gone 12 months without a period, usually between the ages of 45 and 55. Menopause is caused when the ovaries cease their production of the hormone oestrogen.

Menopause is experienced differently by each woman and the range and severity of symptoms reflects this. For those who experience more severe symptoms, this phase of life can be extremely disruptive and significantly diminish overall quality of life.

In recent years, Dr Morrow has taken a deeper interest in the management of menopause symptoms as a result of doing her own research, and learning how little women of menopause age knew about the changes taking place in their bodies.

“I spoke to a group of friends who were experiencing symptoms that they did not realise were because of menopause. Treating the menopause transition is definitely a holistic approach and often just lifestyle modification is all women need.”

In collaboration with another gynaecologist, a physiotherapist, a naturopath and a personal trainer, Dr Morrow now conducts menopause education sessions for the public.

A passionate advocate for providing her patients with the most current information about the treatment of menopause and the management of its symptoms, Dr Morrow will assist you to avail yourself of as much information as possible when deciding on menopausal management so that you can make the best decision for you, including the risks and benefits of each option.

“Hormonal therapy is not suitable for everyone, and the decision to use it must be made on an individual basis, which takes your medical history and individual risk factors into account. Most women are not aware of the lifestyle changes they can make that can significantly improve their experience of this process, and this is something that I love to share, because sometimes small tweaks can make the transition through menopause less disruptive.”

Dr Morrow is also a member of the International Menopause Society (IMS), and the Australian Menopause Society (AMS).
