Dr Kirsten Morrow - Gyneacologist & Obstetrician
MBBS, FRANZCOG

A passion for taking care of women at every stage of their life was what motivated Kirsten to specialise in Gyneacology and Obstetrics. She is well respected for her expertise and much loved for her compassion, down to earth nature and no nonsense communication style.

"My approach could best be described as holistic," Kirsten said. "I love to explore evidence based solutions which can be tailored to each woman's total health and wellbeing. We are so fortunate to have so many options available to us to deal with a broad range of women's health issues, pregnancy and childbirth."

Kirsten completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1996 and was awarded her Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gyneacologists fellowship in 2009. She trained throughout Queensland and completed part of her training at Nambour General Hospital where she was a respected Senior Registrar.

As a Gyneacology surgeon, Kirsten has extensive knowledge and experience in the treatment and management of abnormal pap smear, pelvic pain, menstrual irregularities, prolapse and menopause. "When you experience any of these issues, it can be a very stressful and worrying time," Kirsten said. "It is important to educate women about what is going on in their body, and then go through the best options available for them to manage it."

Kirsten can assist with pre-pregnancy counseling, antenatal care, natural deliveries and caesarean sections and post natal care.

"I have been privileged to have delivered hundreds of babies throughout my career, and I really am passionate about the entire process," she said. "The obstetric experience is special and unique for every woman, and that is why I dedicate myself to exploring the various options available so that every patient feels empowered, understood and supported. Naturally, this is all in the context of bringing little people into the world safely. In this field, ongoing professional development is critical to providing the best, safest treatment and information to women."

Kirsten has recently completed neonatal resuscitation, fetal surveillance, surgical complications, ultrasound and laparoscopic workshops. She lives on the Sunshine Coast with her husband and two gorgeous children.
